Cora flips one of the centipedes onto the ground with her staff and slams the end of the wooden pole onto the insects head. Dragging the weapon across the ground to remove the guts, Cora continues to fight of the creatures.
In the struggle one of the insects takes advantage of an opening in Cora's clothing to sink its mandibles into her flesh. You feel the poison entering her body...
One of the 3 remaining centipedes bites you for 3 points damage and you need to make a fort save. Kanir runs like a bitch. Thoril?

Cora swings her staff once again and yells "DIE!!!"
to hit= natural 20!!! (24) if hit damage= 6 damage (we do still roll the dice right? if we just max the damage it would be 12)

In 3rd edition we always played it as double damage, so 12 anyway.
Cora smashes another centipede with her staff. The final insect slinks around her legs looking for an opening. Unfortunately it is unable to get past her armor.
Kanir runs, he can turn around on his next turn. Thoril?

"YEEAAAAGH!!" screams Kanir as he runs down the hallway. A tiny little part in the back of his mind--the only part of his mind not filled with unreasoning terror--whispers to him, this is getting to be really embarrassing...

Coming to his senses, Kanir stops in his tracks. Heart hammering, lungs pumping like a bellows, he turns and begins to run back to his companions.
They're never going to let me live this down, he thinks, his face reddening--a rather sickly shade, thanks to his greenish skin.
Thrice bedamned ghosts! Kanir grips the sword in his--the sword that would be in his hand had he not dropped it. DAMNDAMNDAMN!!!
He clenches his fists and curls his lip into the feral snarl that has always struck terror into the victims of his kin. His eyes narrow in a focused rage, and he can feel his blood turn to molten iron as his vision tunnels towards his goal. The biggest part of his mind rings with the wordless thought that means: destroy destroy destroy...
In the smaller part of his mind, Kanir hears the voice of his master, Sundalar. Focus your rage, damn you! Despite your foul blood, you are not a savage! Your anger is a powerful weapon, but only if you learn to master it!
Kanir reaches into himself and grabs hold of his fury. He grips it not like a bludgeon, but like a scalpel. The molten iron in his veins suddenly turns to ice, and then bursts into flame as the words of a spell fill him with their power.
It's been damn near a month--Imma fuckin do somethin!
Which I guess means that I'm not gonna do much but get Kanir turned around. Let me know if my turn ever comes up. Please. Thanks.

Goddammit.
Kanir is still pumped up, so he's gonna charge down the stairs.
Kanir, still full of his anger, controls himself and charges down the rickety stairs leading into the cellar. "Prepare to die, abomination!" he snarls, his disrupt undead spell at the ready.
init=11 ranged touch=8 dmg=4 will save=14 ref save (stairs?)=18
Need any other numbers?

You run down the stairs to a 25 x 45 room. Stairs run up the east wall.
This was obviously a wine cellar. Wooden bottle racks - mostly broken - line the north and west walls to a height of 6'. There appear to be no intact bottles left in the racks though there are several with broken necks. Broken bottles cover the floor beneath and near the racks.
Against the east wall, at the foot of the stairs, are two large metal storage bins which appear to be empty.
In the center of the room lies a human corpse clad in plate mail; a longsword lies by the corpse's right hand and a large shield lies across the legs.

Kanir unleashes his spell on the unmoving corpse.
No reaction, comes the thought into his rage-focused mind. Calm down.
Kanir takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for only a second, banking the fires of his anger into something more manageable.
Damn your eye! he thinks. I dropped my sword again. Pathetic.
Moving slowly and deliberately, he takes the steps to the corpse, broken glass crunching beneath his boots, and picks up the longsword. An unfamiliar weapon, but it will serve.
There's something down here. A haunt of some kind. Kanir's eyes narrow with determination. And I will find it.
How bout 16 on a search? Where is that fucking banshee?!

The sword is a normal but serviceable weapon. As you scan the room for enemies several things strike you as odd.
First you see no other creatures here, living or dead.
Second you see that the belt pouch on the corpse appears to have been cut open at the bottom.
Third you notice that the heel of the right boot on the corpse appears to be rotated a small amount. Could it be a secret compartment??

After cleaning the bug goo off herseld Cora saunters down the stair after her companions.
"Hey guys... find anything interesting?" Cora purposely does not ask about goats even though she's secretly still hoping to find one.

As you examine the heel of the boot it swivels around and you see an emerald in a hidden compartment. Unfortunately you fail the see the creatures inhabiting the corpse.
5 small white larval looking creatures swarm out of the body and onto your arm. They immediately start burrowing into your flesh and you can see them moving up your arm.
What are you going to do?

Great, thinks Kanir as the grubs burrow under his skin. Just what I needed.
He begins to cast shocking grasp, the somatic component of the spell bringing new flares of pain up his arm, adding to that caused by the grubs. This isn't going to be pleasant, he thinks.
Gritting his teeth, he pauses just before unleashing the lightning.
"Cora, Thoril," he says. "Do either of you have any quick ideas before I hurt myself? Preferably something that doesn't involve fire..."
I assume that the grubs are underneath my skin. I also assume that I won't have to roll an attack to touch myself. I furthermore assume that I will deal full damage to myself and all grubs with one shocking grasp. Lastly, I assume that Cora and/or Thoril can try to do something less painful to help me. Are any of these assumptions correct? (I refuse to assume that I only have a round or two before they burrow to my heart/brain and kill me. Cause that would suck.)

Most of those assumptions are true. While you may have more than a couple of rounds you need to do something/have something done to you very soon.

"Thanks for the support," Kanir mutters under his breath as he grabs his grub-infested arm. The jolt of magical lightning courses through him, and he stiffens slightly under the strain. It seems to last much longer than it actually is. After it's over, Kanir looks at his smoldering arm, hoping to find no grubs. Or at least to find dead and charred ones, anyway... 8 dmg on 2d6 (going by d20SRD) I assume I don't need to roll to hit...
