Kanir's eyes widen in surprise. I haven't seen such a magical display very often, he thinks.
"Alright, if we're done in here, let's move on," Kanir says aloud. "That storm is getting closer, and I really would prefer not to get stuck here."
redshirt, I assume that you've been keeping track of where we are and what we've explored in the mansion so far. Would you be so kind as to refresh our memories?

From the entry hall you had 4 choices to go. The hall to the west wing that you have already explored, A hall to the east wing, stairs to the second floor , and the hall to the north wing that you are in.
As you come out of the room you are in you have a door diagonal across the hall, a door at the end of the hall to the north. The hall turns east at the door.

"Let's check this door right here across the hall," says Kanir as he steps towards the door.
If nobody objects...

As you step across the hall to the door you can see that it is slightly cracked. With a gentle push the door swings open.
The room is 15 X 25
At one time a long table stood in the center of this room; now it lies broken - thought still recognizable - on the floor. A broken chair stands against the wall between the windows and there is a heap of broken china in the northwest corner.

If there is a china hutch or something like that, Kanir will check it, otherwise he'll sift through the broken china, carefully so as not to cut himself. search=12
Just a rundown old house, Kanir thinks to himself as he walks across the room. Still, I wonder if an enterprising half-orc such as myself could do some work and maybe turn a profit on something like this. Or rather, hire somebody to do some work on it. Hmm, I've never really thought about going into real estate...

"What a dump." Cora mumbles as they pass on to the next door. "I wonder if we could tear it down and restore the land to it's natural state? Such a shame to ruin perfectly good land with a crappy old house..."

As you approach the door you can see that the hall continues east 15' and ends in a door. From your exploration of the outside of the house you guess that it is the door that you saw by the well.
The door you stand in front of is slightly ajar. You push it open and reveal the room.
This room is 20' x 20'.
This was obviously the kitchen. It is dirty and damp, with patches of Grey mold and a few cobwebs on the floor, walls and ceiling. In the corner to your left is some iron cooking equipment with a chimney above. Next to it, under the window, is a cracked and discolored stone sink.
To the right of the sink a small, closed wooden cupboard is fixed to the wall above 5' above floor level.
Against the far wall a flight of wooden stairs leads upwards from left to right; even from the door it is obvious that the woodwork is decayed and a few of the treads are missing.
In the middle of the east wall a door stands open.

Probably a pantry, thinks Kanir as he walks towards the open door in the kitchen. He walks carefully, or at least as carefully as a muscle-bound half-orc can. Wouldn't do to fall through a rotted floor, he thinks.

This room is 15' x 20'. A window is in the north wall and there are stairs going down along the east wall.
This room has suffered the effects of damp and decay more than most in the house. Mold grows in patches on the floor, walls and ceiling; there are many cobwebs, though even these appear to be decaying. A large copper boiler, dented, split, discolored and empty, stands under the window; a heap of crockery shards is on the floor beside it. Stairs lead down into the darkness of what is presumably a cellar.

"Be careful!" Cora yells after Kanir. She goes to inspect the cupboards and chimney in the kitchen... afterall, there could be a squirrel or something trapped in there.

As Kanir begins to descend the stairs a hideous scream, as if from a soul in torment, rises from the cellar below. The story told by Galen flashes through you mind as you try to choke back the fear.
I need Kanir and Thoril to make me a Will save.
Cora brushes past Thoril and approaches the sink just as a scream comes from the room she just left. She quickly turns, worried about her companions. Unfortunately she does not see centipedes that pour out of the sink to defend their home.
5 centipedes attack Cora. 3 hit, take 3 damage and make me a fort save. Everyone roll for initiative.

Terror chokes Kanir and Thoril as the laughter echoes up the stairs. A coldness that starts in the pit of their stomach and radiates outward freezes them in their tracks.
Digging deep Thoril is able to push the fear aside. Kanir on the other hand is panic stricken (much like he was upstairs) and shoves Thoril aside in his desperate attempt to flee the Manor.
Run like a bitch for 2 rounds Kanir.
The centipedes bite send poison rushing into Cora's body. As she attempts to dislodge the insects from her leg she can momentarily feel a shooting pain before her body neutralizes the toxin.
Ok, it will be Thoril, Cora, Centipedes, and Kanir. Thoril wants to cast mage armor on himself so its Cora's turn.

Your going to have to move into the other room where Cora is at first.
Thoril rushes into the kitchen and sees Cora swatting at 5 centipedes crawling on her. With a quick gesture and arcane word he sends a bolt of energy at one of the insects. It spasms and falls to the floor as its head is blown off by the eldritch missile.
Cora?
