Oh, and the FCC comes out today saying that they are going to regulate the internet. Good times Comrades. And this gem just a day afterwards, I believe: Okay, now read it again, and ignore all the references to gadgets and game systems. Here, I'll help: This is from Brother Barry's commencement speech at Hampton U in VA. So, in other words, information is bad? All information? No, of course not! Not all information, silly! Just blogs (internet), cable (do you think he means MSNBC?), and talk radio (which is populated almost exclusively by right wing hosts). Now, is it just me, or does this sound like he's really saying that the only bad information is that which reflects poorly on his administration's political agenda? Dig a little deeper, and isn't he really saying that good information is that which comes directly from the administration and/or that which has been approved by the administration? Anything else is simply "a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment?" The FCC, those paragons of unbiased fairness, intend to turn the internet into a "public utility," just like electricity, water, all that good stuff. That means that the FCC, and hence, the government will gain control of the internet. Control of the internet means control of information. They are phrasing it with words like "net neutrality," and claiming that they only want to provide high-speed internet connections to every American. They claim that they just want to force the big communications corporations--the evil, evil communications corporations who in their greed care nothing for the little guy--force them to use their vast, ill-gotten power to provide high speed internet to everybody. After all, they have the technology, they should have to make it available to everyone. Aren't Americans entitled to that? Anybody remember a year or two ago when the government set up a website encouraging people to turn in their friends and family who were sending "disinformative" emails about the then-proposed health care reform legislation? I remember it vividly. Is this what it's coming to? I tell you right now, and I've believed it for some time, that we will live to see the day when all "patriotic Americans" are forced to stand in front of their tv sets every day for Two Minutes Hate. We won't know why we hate, we won't know who we hate--because who we hate changes with startling regularity--but we will know that we must hate. Ancient Egyptian pharoahs used to destroy and deface the monuments of their predecessors so as to erase all memory of them. That was control of information, friends. In 1984, Big Brother changed all newspaper records, encyclopedias, and history books to reflect any change in policy. And they're taking steps right now to ensure that they can do the same thing. I know, I know. I've often said it all just depends on whose propaganda you choose to believe. And I admit that I've bought into some propaganda in my time. But this... This isn't propaganda. This is a bold and arrogant attempt to brutally violate the First Amendment of the Constitution. You think I'm overreacting? How long 'til "net neutrality" turns into "censorship?" Listen to Obama's words: "information becomes a distraction, a diversion." A distraction from what? A diversion from what? Are you getting as scared as I am? tl;dr: WHERE IS YOUR FIRST AMENDMENT NOW?

And to raise the stakes even further the new Supreme Court nominee has been quoted as saying that Americans who aid terrorists "should be subject to battlefield law — indefinite detention without a trial — even if he were captured in a place like the Philippines rather than in a physical battle zone."
How soon till anyone who opposes the Govt. is considered a terrorist and held without being read your Miranda rights for who knows how long?
And she wrote a paper in school on how awesome Socialism is. Lucky us.

Waitwaitwait--wasn't there a big stink not too awful long ago about how Islamic terrorists--non-Americans--should not be considered enemy combatants but rather criminals, ie, that they should be read Miranda rights and receive all the benefits thereof? Um, now I'm confused.

Muslims are good. Americans are bad and need to be controlled. The only thing we are good for is footing the bill for the rest of the world.

The Radical Left is angry that the Obama administration is not moving fast enough to take over the country. Cracks are starting to show, its a scary time in our country right now and most people dont even know whats going on. Did you catch anything that Code Pink woman was yelling. "We supported you, give us the money you promised." "We dont want steps, we want it now." Scary.

I thought you beat me to the Rosie O'Donnell thing. Heh, I'll see if I can find that in a minute. But first, a couple things: I looked for the audio/video of O'Donnell's BP opinion on YouTube; thank God I didn't find it because the sound that woman's voice makes me physically ill. But Rosie O'Donnell said that BP should be "seized" by the government. BP is a British company. Rosie O'Donnell, the stupid fucking bitch, advocates the government takeover of not only American businesses, but foreign ones as well. Oh, and she had something to say about Helen Thomas, too. "How could that be construed as hate speech?" Oh. My. God. (Sorry; there's audio in that one. You have been warned.) More proof that Rosie O'Donnell is a stupid fucking bitch: she gave away the ending of Fight Club on it's opening weekend. And then there's the infamous gun control thing with the stupid fucking bitch and Tom Selleck. "The Second Amendment was so we could have muskets when the British came?" WTF?! (I died a little inside when I realized that Jabba the Hutt was sitting on the stupid fucking bitch's desk. [Why, Jabba, why?]) Shit. Now I need to wash the bad taste out my mouth. How about a little cowboy mythology?

AP IMPACT: Gulf awash in 27,000 abandoned wellsYes, I hate the word "green," but this is a pretty big deal. Yes, I hate the idea of environmentalism, but still. 27,000 abandoned wells in the Gulf that may or may not be capped appropriately. One is gushing right now, and has been for how long? Oh yeah, too long. How many are leaking/could leak/will leak? As much as I hate to blame the "evil corporations," I don't think I can't in this case. They've exploited a loophole, and the government has allowed them to do so for the past 60 some odd years. Though I also despise the idea that the government is there to solve any and all problems, they are just as culpable as the companies that slacked on the regulations. There, I've assigned blame. Now solve the fucking problem. And yes, this is the responsibility of the "evil oil corporations" (I feel dirty for having typed that). The article, assuming they're right, says that it will cost the industry $3 billion to cap em all. So do it. I do not say this from the stance that so many ignorant Americans take, which is "they can afford it so they should pay for it!!" No, I say it from the perspective of, "this is the cost of doing business; just because you've gotten away with it so far doesn't mean you don't have to pay your bills." It is also time for the government to start enforcing their own fucking regulations. For a change...

And stop forcing the Companies to drill wells in water that deep when they didnt have to. It would be alot easier to cap a well when its not that fucking deep.
Damn tree huggers.

DnD 4.5? Kinda smells like it, despite repeated denials. Not that I care, mind you--none of us ever bought into the "nowour3.0booksareunusableandweareforcedtobuy3.5sowecanplaydndzdamnwizcodamn!!1!" nonsense. Some of it looks cool (more options, naturally, and class features you get as you level), some not so cool (some classes are easier or harder to play than others, which may or may not mean some classes are more or less effective than others--anybody remember theglenn's psion or my drood?). (Also, not that the "effectiveness" thing matters much, so long as everybody is having fun.) Eh, I don't know. I'll prolly pick up the dungeon tiles if I decide I like the ones I got (got a couple sets, haven't used em yet). And I'll get the other shit from DDi if I'm still a subscriber. The "red box" looks awesome, though! Seriously brings back some memories!

Hope everybody voted, today. Just a primary (where you vote for people you might want to vote for in the real election), but the important thing is Proposition C (think that's it): Missouri forbids the federal government the authority to force you to buy anything you don't want to buy, specifically health insurance(something like that). Also, for me personally, I voted for names I didn't recognize ie, those people that hadn't called me while I'm trying to sleep or who hadn't put flyers/business cards in my mailbox. Here's something pretty funny: www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=hdnzIrkUkUAnd a couple messages from Rep. Pete Stark D-California. This douchebag has been in office since 1972. That's a looooong fucking time. I was born in 1972! Term limits, please, I beg you, term limits!! Proof of how peaceful, beautiful, and serene the religion of Islam is: the cover of Time magazine. It's a picture of a woman who had the unmitigated gall to flee her husband's house because she feared for her life, and what she looks like after the Taliban authorities got done with her. We should tolerate and respect this culture? We should accept a culture who treats women like this, who consider it a great honor to kill anybody who doesn't think like they do, or who don't worship the same god? And, not only that, we should kiss their asses?! ( Cordoba, by the way, is the name of a Spanish city conquered by Muslims in 711, and later became the capital of a Muslim province. Anybody else see a connection, there?) Or maybe I'm an extreme right-wing racist clinging to his guns and his god who still believes in that "outdated document written by a bunch of drunks that has little to no bearing on life in a global community". Damn, I tend to get kinda pissed when I start talking about this stuff. PS: No, I don't really think that about the Constitution. Except for the "written by drunks" part. The Founding Fathers knew how to throw a party!

Yeah, that Stark is a prick. But he is just an ass and not a terrorist like some of the people in this administration like William Ayers, Jeff Jones. Look up Weather Underground and the Apollo Alliance if you have the time. Hell, "Cloward & Piven" will make you sick. All the things going on in this country right now have been planned for a very long time. And the mainstream media is a willing accomplice. Found a cool documentary about the Weather Underground. Remember these people are in the current administration. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6078589535743610981#Warning for graphic scenes.

Thank you affirmative action. Wait, what? Daredevil is to no longer be a blind lawyer but now an African prince? WTF? They couldn't have Black Panther be in his own book? Had to give him Daredevil's job? (I really hate to point out Sotomayor's[sp] track record regarding affirmative action when we're talking about comic books, but really, this feels like the test was dumbed down because neither black nor latino firemen could pass it...) (And the test was ignored after several dumbings down, btw...) Just, hmm...
