New element discovered in the USA to be included on the Periodic Table:

The Nuclear Physics Department of the University of Oklahoma has discovered
the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium
(Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198
assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are
surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since
Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected,
because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny
amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less
than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

'So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door, 'and the minute the big one opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs,'right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know. 'Then I went in and shot the other one 'as he backed up pleading to me to spare him.' Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in....'
Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny. 'What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison,' Detective Delp said, 'especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for Mayor.'

Australian Gun Law Update

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law
to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government,
a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent ,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent ;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent .
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery
with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the
criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly,
while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased,
after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding
Australian society of guns..' You won't see this on the American evening news or
hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens
save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens .

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Nice job with that one, but I still don't feel safe. Full body scans, please! I assure you, your privacy will not be violated (right...), but there may be significant delays, a much more valid concern, but isn't that worth it so I can feel safe?

Possible good news if you're an illegal alien and want to attend college in Missouri. The bill proposed by Sen. Jolie Justus, D-Jackson County would require "that they graduate from high school, live with a parent or guardian while attending high school and go to a Missouri high school for at least two years. Did you hear about the ATF seizing 30 Airsoft bb guns in Oregon?

Special Agent Kelvin Crenshaw said the toys can be easily retro-fitted into dangerous weapons.

"With minimal work it could be converted to a machine gun," Crenshaw said.

Now, I'm gonna admit that--despite the fact that I own a couple--I know very little about guns. I had a Red Rider bb gun when I was a kid, I learned how to handle Dad's .22 rifle and his 20 gauge, barely. Shot a squirrel with it, once, even. And I've shot my own guns a couple of times.

Now that you know for a fact that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, I can say, unequivocally, that Special Agent Kelvin Crenshaw is a fucking idiot.

Thanks for getting those dangerous weapons off the street, Crenshaw. Douchebag.
