Like I said, I might be late (4 or 5ish?). Don't wait for me for food or to start the game. Again, you don't have to wait for me!

Good game tonight, redshirt! I definitely did not expect a dragon. Also, sorry I showed up late. I particularly liked the story stuff--you brought the quicklings back, and now there's war in the Vale? Nice. I wanted a shot at Festa, but I guess you can't have everything. That troll was cool as shit, too! I was wondering what you were going to do with our companion character--didn't figure she'd keep hanging around, but I like that she's still with us. She really wants Lady Festa dead!
How did that first encounter go? Wish I could have been there to see it (since I wrote it...).
Sorry I was so out of it during the game. I have since gotten my second wind (figures, now that I'm home). I've managed to level Brother Gauthak (and most of Throndor, if that matters).
I'm very interested to see where the next DM takes the game. There's a war! That's a pretty big deal. I'm thinking that--well, I'm thinking lots of stuff. I do not want to volunteer to run the next game, cause I want to a) see what a different DM comes up with, and b) play Brother Gauthak in his new incarnation (did some retraining--feels like a lot to me, but it's within the "retrain one thing per level" rule). I suspect we'll face some quicklings, and some drow, and maybe even some of the Coalition races, even though the Coalition is no more (or has Lord Driftwood kept them all united? Hmm...). Lord Warden Markelhay is dead, but can his son effectively lead a defense of Fallcrest? Should be interesting!
Not much else to say about the game, except I hope that Porky can make it to the next one, and I hope that Asshole Brother shows up, too. Anyway, good game, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Synopsis is up. Read it at your own peril. Good game Xombie (or whatever you're calling yourself, these days). I like how you tied things into what had been done before - that's the point of the co-op game, and I think we (the DMs) have all been doing a better job of that lately. Started out we all seemed like we didn't want to step on anybody's toes and use parts of their story in our game, but that's what we're supposed to do! Good work there, Xombie. Your encounters were nice and balanced. Maybe a little too balanced, actually. I know I complained (well, maybe "complain" is a little too strong a word; "offered constructive criticism" is prolly more accurate) about the drow/cyclops-becoming-zombies encounter, but it wasn't fatal, it was just tough. I like a good mix of "all too easy" to "oh dear God save me!" encounters, and the drow/cyplops enc was an example of almost panic. And that's not bad! It was tough, but not over the top. And definitely a surprise when they started getting up (well, not too surprising when they got up, but surprising that when they got up, they tended to stay up! ). The other three encounters were well-put-together, but were kind of "baby bear" encounters - not too hard, not too soft, but just right (hmm, maybe not the best analogy...). Granted, out of the 4 or 5 encs we run each session, there's not a whole bunch of room for variance. Having said all that, I'm actually really impressed that you managed to keep them all at about the right challenge level. The higher level the characters, the more difficult it is to make good encounters. That kind of thing is hard enough to do even when you DM for the same group every two weeks and can gauge their power level by seeing them in action on a regular basis, especially starting at low- mid-paragon like we are. But for the co-op game, each DM gets his shot only every few games, and each game is usually at least a month apart. Pretty impressive work, Xombie, good job. Looks like RMS has the next game. I demand perfection! Heh, j/k. I am looking forward to your first game. I'm sure you'll do wonderfully. EDIT: Oh, and Xombie, your maps were both useful and cool. I like em!

Good game, rms! Looking forward to the next one. Not sure if I have any real suggestions for you. I was about to say that you might not want to have encounters where monsters attack other monsters, but then I remembered that I did the exact same thing the night before! So all I'll say about that is just don't do it often. Nice mix of encounters, challenge-wise. That last one might have been a little tough, but we could have ran away... Only other thing is just maybe give more notice when you're ready for the game. That's just my own personal bitch, and we all know what a disagreeable old bastard I am. Again, good game, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Good game rms! I had fun and ate way too much taco stuff! I think you did a really good job DMing; you seemed to know what you were doing for the most part (as good as any of us know what we're doing, anyway), and looked comfortable running the big groups of critters. Hell, you almost seemed more comfortable DMing than you do when you're playing just one character! Encounters were good, some kinda easy, some a little harder (we like a good mix like that, at least I do). Only advice I have, if you want to call it advice, is don't worry so much about finding the perfect minis for your critters. I know you want to get close, but we as players don't know if your monster is supposed to have a flail instead of a morning star, or a spear instead of a club. If it's important (like reach), then maybe worry about it. Or don't. We won't know the difference! I know I used to kind of anal about that kind of thing (I do strive for accuracy, after all), but it really isn't that important. And that's not even really advice, just opinion. So take it or leave it, as you choose. [So why point it out, asshole? ] Anyway, good game! I have the next one, and I think you gave me some ideas to play around with. ;D EDIT: Oh, the new Lord Warden is named Ernesto.

Fun game everbuddy, thanks fer playin. Synopsis thread updated. Think I know what I'll do with Brother Guathak, but I haven't gotten around to updating him yet (prolly Wrath of the Faithful for his power, lose Rune of Peace, 15 is pretty easy to level to). Sorry I kilt yer elf, Xombie. But not real sorry . Know what you're rolling next? Think you said avenger, and they're pretty cool. If you want a close up striker, barbarians look pretty sweet, too. Fighters can be built to deal out the damage too, and it wouldn't hurt to have another defender in the group. I personally love warlords, if you're looking at a leader (bravolord rocks, but is not for the timid); warlords can help pump out damage, but most of em don't do it themselves (they let other people do it), so you might not be too interested in em. Just throwing out some suggestions for melee types in case you don't know what you want to play (think you mentioned you wanted a melee dude). I like the melee types in 4e a lot, so if you want some help/advice/more suggestions, just ask. I don't claim that the advice will be good, but it will be advice ;D. I think redshirt said he has the next game. Looking forward to it! (I'd love to take a crack at Lady Festa hint, hint ).

Good game, redshirt! I like how you tied up most of the Coalition stuff, and really like that we got to kill Lady Festa. I would compliment your encounter design and DMing skills, but you already know you're awesome.
I guess I volunteered to run the next game (had some ideas, like the thought of chasing the githyanki to the Astral - oh yes). Unfortunately, I feel I'll need to include a companion character since I run the only healer in the group - pretty sure you'll need one of those. What do you all think of comp chars? Like em, hate em? (Sorry if I've asked this question before, but I can't remember the answer and I'm far too lazy to look back through the previous posts.)
Brother Gauthak is carrying the Hand of Vecna right now, but if somebody else wants to carry it that is cool. Just let me know. I could see Pherril taking responsibility for it since he's an arcane dude (seems appropriate).
Synopsis thread is updated.
Okay, not much else to say except thanks to redshirt for running a really fun game. And to xombie and Gir for providing sammich makin' stuff. And to remind RMS to put his wish list stuff on the wish list thread (hint hint). And to encourage everybody else to put wish list stuff on that thread, too! (And I guess I should practice what I preach, huh?) Later.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for being a little more testy than usual tonight. I think I just didn't get enough sleep. Nobody's fault but mine, and, like, sorry y'all. Second, synopsis thread is updated. Again, not my best effort. Third, thanks for the good food, doods! Unfortunately, since I was DMing, I didn't scarf as much as I woulda/coulda/shoulda. And it wasn't til I was driving home that I realized I hadn't tried the PB&C cake. GAAH!! That chili was awesome, and I understand that Gir made it; you must tell me your recipe - I've been trying to perfect my own chili recipe, and I've made little progress. So any words of wisdom would be welcome. I think my bacon-ranch dip turned out pretty damn well; I plan on making it again in the future (just gotta remember to use half as much cheese as it calls for - the proportions seemed perfect tonight with half the cheese). Fourth, you guys are some ass-kickin' mammo-jammos. It's ridiculous. And now that ya gots some new armor, the DMs will have to work overtime to even hit you, let alone challenge you. I look forward to the challenge, personally. The treant/vine/titan fight was surprisingly tough, though. Just goes to show that, awesome as I am, I still have trouble judging the strength of encounters (I thought that one would be easier than it was). And I think that the boss fight would have been better with fewer minions and maybe more real guys. Eh, I still love minions! Hmm, maybe use twice as many next time... Fifth, anybody have any suggestions or that sort of thing, please let me know. Post em so the DMs can look and see what you love and hate. Also, any praise directed at me is welcome. Also, the Wish List thread is your friend. Tell the DMs what you want in the way of gear and we will do our best to meet your desires. Magic loot in 4e is a pain in the ass, even moreso than in 3.x, so any help you can provide will be much appreciated as it makes writing adventures a whole lot easier. Remember, the DM happy, everbody happy! Good game y'all, and I'm looking forward to the next one. redshirt has it, I believe, and I'm curious to see what he does with the mess I've created. Later.
