I was right: that No-Doz finally kicked in. Let's see if lasts long enough to get a synopsis post up. Oh..... Its Broughten Yeah, by us! Good game tonight, Xombie. Just a couple pieces of unsolicited advice for ya (and I'm not picking on you, but if you're offended then you can tell me to fuck off and then you can grow up...  ). - The DMG2 talks about designing traps, and that should be helpful if you want to level up a trap. It's in chapter 2, and that whole chapter is really good stuff. You should read it.
- I think you should try to be a little more forceful when you DM. I don't mean that you should be a domineering jerk, or hog the spotlight constantly, or demand obedience from the underling players (I've got all that stuff taken care of when I DM...), but you're really low-key. That's not bad in and of itself, but you know how we are (easily distracted in case you really don't know how we are). Maybe try to use a little more description when the monsters attack, and make sure that we are paying at least a nominal amount of attention. I know that half the time I didn't really know what was what or who was who--but you did have minis that actually looked like what they were supposed to represent, and that helped a lot. I don't really know what you can do specifically, but-- You know what? Forget what I said about hogging the spotlight; the DM does more work than the players combined, so you deserve attention. Demand it!
- You didn't seem as prepared as you could have been. I know it's a pain but a little prep work goes a long way. I know, I know, time is not an inexhaustible resource (trust me, I know). Picking out treasure parcels is a pain in the ass (I know this, too), but that's why redshirt and I have stressed putting char stats and wishlists on the board. That makes it quite a bit easier. Also, try some of that mounting putty for the dungeon tiles; it won't damage them if you don't leave it stuck on for too long.
Nice job on leveling the critters. The spiders were annoying, but I don't think they were too tough; my dice were cold for that encounter (I rolled between 6 and 8 pretty consistently), and I assume it was the same for everybody else. One little thing, I personally like lots of cool terrain: stuff to jump over, push over, and trip over. Just throwing that out there. Anyway, good game Xombie and everybody else. I don't think we decided on a time or DM for the next game, did we? I say RMS needs to DM since he wasn't there for this one. But that might just be me being a dick. ;D |

Hope everybody had fun, I know I did! One thing I saw that I need to remember for when I DM again, that last fight was kinda grindy and was getting pretty boring (probably moreso for you guys than for me, or least more boring for you faster than it was for me). I'll remember that. Not much else to say. In fact, nothing else to say! Looking forward to the next game. I'm interested in seeing what redshirt comes up with.  |

just a notice... we intend on having the Grand Opening for the shop Sat. Apr. 9th to coincide with The Wood Shed closing sale... so i am out for game day that day... i would really like all you guys to be there... or ill find out where you live:)... especially those of you who havent checked it out yet.. (you know who you are...) and those who have been there... the new shop is a lot better looking
