Wondered if any one has seen this team. It was on hordelings Message Board, thread about bats. He was running it with two bats and 6 points left over. Could be another bat I guess.
2x Storm Archer (epic) 160 each 2x Lyrandard Skyfire Captain 55 each 2x Crow Shaman 26 each 482 points
With LSC’S “Prepared for Battle” Ability you can start the game with Fiery Weapon Augmentation and Speed Weapon Augmentation cast on Storm. A Cat’s Grace from the LSC or the CS means Storm is making a ranged attack at +25/+25/+25/+20 for 15 magic + 5 electricity + 5 sonic + 5 fire!! If you add one more attack with the Shaman’s Snake's Swiftness that would be 150 damage each per round. It seems to me that this might do pretty good against the ICONS. You would be doing 5 less damage per attack against the blue (electricity) so only 250 per round with him. Same with the red (no need for the Fiery Weapon Augmentation here) but you get 1000 point team vs. him. This means you could double up on ever one and be doing 500 points of damage per round against the CRD. The ICONS have AC’S of 26, 27, and 32 FYI and a HP of 600 and 800. The whole team is kind of squishy but either way it goes its not going to last more then two rounds!

CRD breathes a 100pt cone--take that into account! The DC from that cone is 30--good luck! The archers will fail their saves and prolly run, and your chumps will die, your commanders die whether they save or not. CRD roars next, archers prolly run. I don't know what the map looks like, but it seems like you'll have to maneuver VERY carefully to get that 250dmg/rnd. If you do, though. OMFG, that would be like the coolest thing ever! I was about to say Nentyar Hunter, but grouping em all together against the Red would be...not good. I don't think it likely that you would ever get to attack for that much damage, though. You would need to keep mobile, stay away from the dragon (any of them), and doing so means that you aren't getting all of your attacks. The dragon would most likely just chase one down when you move them out and kill him, taking attacks from the other. And then go after that one. Then again, that's just a theory, I'm not very good at this game, and I have almost no experience with any of the dragons (played the blue and black twice each, never played the red). It's a cool mental exercise, though. How the hell do you beat those dragons? ig mentioned Archmages, but I'd bet there are other ways. I think the epic Storm Archer team could work, with lots of luck. Maybe something with ride-by and/or fly-by attacks? Use a hit and run strategy and try to stay the hell away from that dragon? I'm reasonably sure that you can't go toe-to-toe with em and expect to win a slugfest. Btw, that Storm Archer team looks super nasty in non-Icon Epic. Damn. What would your other 18pts be? Fodder or something tasty? (And I've never played an Epic game with my own minis--we must do that soon!!! I got a hungry Pit Fiend!)(Who would stand little chance against Epic Archers...oh, wait, Meteor Swarm...)(Heh.)

I think your right, still on Grotto the archers would rock!
I have been thinking about other ways to abuse speed Weapon Augmentation. Epic Drizzt has melee attack of +19/+19/+14 for 15 magic and 5 cold, plus he has Dual Activation. So this trick actually gives him 8 attacks at 25 damage. He is kind of squishy to though. Then I started thinking about his warband building with Tordek. Regdar does the same thing for only 20 points so Drizzt got the axe.
I have not done the math to see if I can get every thing I want on this team but I was thinking something along the lines of this. Regdar brings in Tordek and the Lyrandard Skyfire Captain gives him Fiery Weapon Augmentation and Speed Weapon Augmentation and Cats Grace. Elminster brings in some LG commanders to give him some Divine Protection and Legion's Shield of Faith. Mephling Pyromancer gives him fly and speed 8. So lets see what that makes him look like now.
Attack +24/+24/+19 for 40 magic +10 electricity + 5 fire AC 32 Speed F8 Saves 15
Throw in a couple of Crow Shaman for snakes and he could be doing 220 to 275 a round and with an AC of 32 and 265 HP he is staying around a little bit! OH, and he will be in melee combat in the woods so that’s AC 40 aginst ranged attacks! (Quick question if a giant had a ranged attack, would that be AC 44?)
I’m pretty sure that I’m over 500 points here but it is still kind of cool. Now lets see, um some Magic Weapon, some Blessing and maybe a Bane Weapon Augmentation …… ;D

Math is hard.
And evidently, so is Tordek!
(Conventional wisdom says that slow dudes on Grotto is bad, but F8 sounds pretty good.)

I had to think about it, but I think I get it (the post is formatted strangely; I wasn't sure what you were trying to say).
Hunter shoots first time.
Hunter declares second shot, but everybody else (under command) shoots before she does. Then, she shoots, no matter if that target is still closest?
<OR>
Hunter shoots first time.
Hunter declares shot on same target, no matter if that target is still closest. Then everybody else shoots. Then she shoots.
Okay, I'm still confused, I guess. Which is right? (I suppose I could look it up myself, but I'm just too lazy. You know me.)
I'm curious; did this come up in a game you guys played? I'm a noob, but it seems like a pretty rare occurrence. The only thing I can think of is knockback, but are there any ranged knockbacks? What am I missing?

Check the calendar--200 pt challenge this Friday. If you want to play, let me know and I will call you when the Cargill people are off work. GT seems to think that certain figs are, how would I say this, "cheesy." To quote: "PitLor takes no skill." (PitLor being a contraction of Pit Fiend and Balor.) So, I'm thinking of changing my team from Beholder Jr. Varsity to something using Pit. I know that this is going back on my word, but I'm giving you plenty of notice (and nobody else ever committed to a team!). Naturally, the first thing I thought of changing to was a Pit Fiend team. And I might do that, anyway. I'd like to try hooking a Chraal to a Pit and seeing if that works. (Probably not use Mezzoloth--we've been doing damage on a successful save wrong: we've been rounding dmg up, and we're supposed to round it down--Mezzo just keeps getting worse, going from super-cool to "eh.") Then I thought maybe keep the Blich from the original team and change everything else. Ultroloth is an okay commander . Maybe try out Bone Naga along with em if there's enough room. Or maybe I could play the Ghaele Eladrin team. I'm getting sick of Dragondown Grotto (another reason to scrap Beholder Jr. Varsity), but I do like that Ghaele team. What do you all think? (And should I worry about invisibility?) (Dammit. ) Also, xombie, did you want me to order you a City of Peril if it's about $10 on Amazon? I'm thinking I might order me one--those maps look cool.

Yes, please call me. See the 300 pt. team below minus Balor and the Orc Druid, plus add some tec. Lol. Not from me. ;D Did you guys get an email from Casey? There are two things of interest in it. First he writes – The other thing was about a turny this Saturday at Valhalla's Gate. If I go to this event I’m thinking about running something along the lines of this. Balor 95 LBD 44 EoG 44 Umber Hulk x2 30x2 = 60 Orc Druid 27 Orc Wardrummer 19 Cursed Spirt 11 They say that the UH's confusion is realy good and I have all ways wanted to play them. The curesd spirt is in to hopefully give enemies -2 to there confusion saves. I just called Valhalla's Gate and they have the City of Peril map pack in. I would like to use Ratfang Sewers (bottom left) for this band. A living creature occupying a sewage square is under the effect of stench (unless it has the stench ability itself) -2 to attack, AC and saves. I think this would stack with the cursed spirt but I'm not positive. Not to worried about it. I'm in CE so I will not win map int any way. Eye, LBD and Balor are my hitters. Wardrummer is here to raise my saves. The Orc Druid is here for his snake's swiftness. Any suggestions would help.

lol (ig, ur a showoff, but funny--now, where's my cheesecake?) I don't see why stench and Cursed Spirit wouldn't stack. It's two different sources for the -2 (one is stinky, the other is scary). I'm sure you realize that your Umber Hulks will never be under command, but I don't know if that would be a problem or not. 70hp is pretty beefy, especially on a 30pt fig. My question is, why the Eye? You have only 2 other orcs (Wardrummer and Orc Druid), so I don't see why to use the Eye over another Black. Multiple Large Blacks are good, I hear. No other Black Dragons? Maybe try out Thrall of Blackrazor. Although I guess he and Balor would be at odds (Thrall wants em dead, Balor just wants em running; although if you ignore Balor's CE, Thrall could help out with the Red Tide thing...or not, I really don't know--this game is too hard for me). I would like to be enlightened regarding your choice of the Eye, though. Maybe it's just cause he's a bad mella fella. (And after looking at your post, you come right out and say that he's a hitter. Duh.) Your Umber Hulks don't deal magic damage, could that be a problem? (I would have assumed that Orc Drood would have Magic Fang, at least, but then again, that won't affect aberrations will it?) Just another little point. The team looks good. Maybe I'll put together a 300pt team and play against it Friday. Might even go to Columbia for their 300pt tourney. (Don't count on that, though.) Oh, and I'll call ya when we get here.
