ig, upon answering, you were supposed to pose another song line.
But since you didn't, I have another!
"Darkness! Imprisoning me, all that I see, absolute horror! I cannot live! I cannot die! Trapped in my self!"

Never heard Gir's (either one) . ig, you are correct, but I believe the name of the song is actually Fire Water Burn. As usual, I'm too lazy to actually verify that. Yours is Space Oddity by Iggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Or maybe the Thin White Duke. One of those... "He can't be a man cause he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as me."

Sympathy for the Devil, by the Stones
Oh, and xombie's ("waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa") is any Manowar song (thanks xombie, that's funny!)
"All you sucker DJs who think you're fly, there's got to be a reason and you know the reason why; try to put on those airs and act so cool, but you've got to realize that you're acting like fools."

Yeah, just keep on thinking it's my fault and stay an inch or two outta kicking distance" Well, you're technically correct. Korn covered the song: Word Up, by Cameo (or Korn, I suppose). Yeah, Gir is way too obscure. ("scottish/celtic/christian/rock" uh, yeah, okay...) Well, that too! And for yours, gypsy, Imma gonna hafta say that that is "Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth. Nice choice! I'll give up on Gir's and give one of my own... "Hang my head I wanna drown my sorrow, no tomorrow, no tomorrow, and I find it kinda funny, find it kinda sad, the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had."

"Well, you're technically correct. Korn covered the song: Word Up, by Cameo (or Korn, I suppose). Hmm, well that counts....ish. At least in my book. *shrug* "Hang my head I wanna drown my sorrow, no tomorrow, no tomorrow, and I find it kinda funny, find it kinda sad, the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had." I'm not even gonna touch this one. I know the song and know who sang it, although I'm pretty sure it was a cover as well. No clue who sang the original though. My 80's brain will just stick to all the remakes cause I'm not quite as, ahem, venerable as everyone else. But anyway, I give you another, just so you don't get bored. "But still, you push me to see something, I can never be. Why am I their shattered king?"

The cover version is fine if that's what you know. Also know that I might not know that a cover exists! (There is one for this song, of course...) Lemme think about yours.

In that case Mad World by Tears For Fears....or it maybe Mad Mad World, one of the two. And again, I'm not sure if it was a cover or not, just think maybe it is. *shrugs* I dunno. It was one of the better songs off of their "The Hurting" cd. Shesh, my retarded 80's days are showing. Gir: Once again I have to say I have no clue. Obscure is good though, makes you think....or burns out your brain, either way.

Tears for Fears or Gary Jules (from Donnie Darko); you are correct!
For gir, the only guess I can make is The Pillows (from FLCL), but I'm sure that's not right.
gypsy, is that a Korn song?

xombie is heading on the right track.... Though he has an unfair advantage, it seems as if he's the only one that actually has a chance to get any of your songlines. I'll leave it to him!

gypsy, is that a Korn song? Nope. I'll give you more of it, hopefully that will help....although perhaps you haven't heard the song (It wasn't off of their best album), but I know you have heard the band. "Make the sadness go away Come back another day The things I've said and done Don't matter to anyone But still, you push me to see Something, I can never be Why am I their shattered king? I don't mean anything"
